Build and Conquer alliances
How alliances work in Build and Conquer's 8-player servers: why holding strategic areas takes two countries, how to split economy and military roles
Build and Conquer puts up to eight countries on one map with a shared mainland. That single design decision makes alliances the most powerful tool in the game: two coordinated countries can hold a sector that neither can hold alone, and they can do it while both keep earning at home.

Why alliances pay
| Reason | What it buys you |
|---|---|
| Sector holding | One country's troops hold while the other runs the economy |
| Shared scouting | A HIMARS spotter can call targets for a partner's missiles |
| Deterrence | Raiders skip servers where two neighbours retaliate together |
| Trade | Resources and steel move faster between partners than through your own chain |
The standard division of labour
The arrangement that works on live servers: one player builds the economy country — dense housing, shops, a full resource chain — and one builds the war country — production, missiles, interceptors. The economy country funds the war country's steel and fuel; the war country holds the sector whose bonus lifts both. Swap roles weekly, because the war country's city grows slower.
How to make it work
- Agree on the sector first. Two countries racing for the same area is a fight, not an alliance.
- Share the bonus. The sector bonus goes to whoever holds it, so alternate or split sectors.
- Never share your plot. There is no legitimate mechanic for giving another player access to your country, and anyone offering one is offering a scam or a script.
- Write down the deal. Discord agreement or not, remember who holds what — most "betrayals" are just two players remembering different deals.
- Expect end-of-server behaviour. On a small server, the moment one country is clearly winning is the moment the others gang up. That is the game working as designed.
Betrayals and recoveries
If a partner turns on you: do not counter-attack immediately. Move your missiles to interceptor production, take your units home, and let the sector go. A country that survives with its economy intact rebuilds a war force in a day; a country that spends its stockpile on revenge does not.
